How To Customize Thesis Comment Byline
by IDW on August 7, 2009
Since I customize WordPress sites on a daily basis, I found the need to post about Thesis. For those that don’t know, Thesis is a theme that is created by DIYthemes. And for many people who think all themes are created equal, they aren’t. Thesis is more than a theme. Working withing Thesis is as close as you’ll come to working within the main frame of WordPress.
Sorry about the background ramble, but I recently did some work for a client and realized that something that I couldn’t find anything should be on my site for other Thesis users. I’ve always wanted to get away from looking at the main page and noticing the usual {0 comments} at the bottom of each post. I’m sure there are more out there, but I’ve found one Thesis user that customized that byline. Since I didn’t find any documentation on how to customize that, I wanted to share.
The open your custom_function.php using your favorite text editor. Copy and paste the following at the bottom of your custom_function.php
If you want to customize your byline to say some different from what I have, “Add Comment Here”. You can change the text that I’ve put in the red box.
Save your new custom_function.php.
This is a simple way to customize your comment byline at the bottom of each post on the main page.
